Oreo "Cake" Pops - Jack & Sally

I'm sure we've all seen how wonderful Bakerella's cake pops are and have dreamt about making them at some time or other. I have made cake pops out of cake, but I have to say these "cake" pops are fantastic for something quick to do, or to keep the kids entertained for a little bit over the holidays.

OREO "CAKE" POPS (makes about 20)

 Ingredients:
2 packs of oreos
250g cream cheese
White chocolate melts or candy melts
Lollipop sticks
Anything you wish to decorate them with

Step 1:
Break up the oreos and place them in a food processor. Mix until the oreos are a fine crumb consistency.

Step 2:
Add the cream cheese (chopped up) into the food processor with the oreo crumbs. Process until they come together, then turn out into a bowl.

Step 3:
I used a tablespoon to make sure the balls were roughly the same size. B went with whatever size her hands made :)
Make the mixture into balls using your hands, place on a tray lined with baking paper. Once all the balls are done, place into the freezer for at least half an hour (this stops the balls from falling apart in the warm chocolate)

Step 4:
After half an hour, melt the white chocolate or candy melts. The white chocolate had instructions to melt it in the microwave, but I'm old school and do it on the stove.

Step 5:
Once the chocolate has melted, get a ball and a stick. Dip the tip of the stick into the chocolate and then push into the ball, being careful not to go all the way through the ball. quickly dip the ball (holding the stick) into the chocolate and remove, letting drips stop before placing in a holder, back in the fridge, to set. Continue until all the balls are done.

Notes:
I made my holder from a box I had at home. Its probably recommended to use foam as it will hold the pops straight, but the box did its job. To make the jack and sally pops featured at the top of the post, I painted the faces on with food dye and used royal icing for sallys hair :)
